WHAT IS ACCREDITATION OF HEALTHCARE?

A process of assessment of the quality of a health care service against professionally accepted standards

MISSION

To promote the quality nationally through continuous improvement in the quality of healthcare delivery systems and processes in partnership with all parties involved

OBJECTIVE

1.To create a national voice on quality improvement initiatives in health’s;
2.To advocate and add to the development of healthcare delivery standards, credentialling and through accreditation programmes;
3.To plan and implement continuing education, training and research programmes on quality improvement in health;
4.To provide opportunities for cooperation, communication sharing of experiences and exchange of ideas in health;
5.To promote the principles and practice of quality improvement in health;
6.To promote professional ethics relating to the practice of quality improvement in health;
7.To establish and maintain a support network for those actively involved in quality improvement in health; and
8.To develop a data bank of information on quality in healthcare as a resource center.

The administrative organisation provides a structure that enables administrators, managers, nurses and physicians to support efficient and effective patient care delivery systems.

Mechanisms are in place for the physical protection of staff and patients from enviromental hazards.

A physical plant is provided that is environmentally and technically safe.

Patient Care:
All patients will be cared for utilizing a collaborative plan of care developed by professionals.
